Laptops Distribution Ceremony at PIEAS, Nov. 16, 2023
The Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme is an initiative under the Prime Ministers Youth Program and is being executed by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. The project aims to provide free of cost laptops and all allied opportunities to the young and talented students studying in public sector Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. This program will encourage bright students to pursue further research and academic work in their respective fields.
The distribution criterion was purely on merit basis in each degree program PhD / MS / BS. The share of each university was determined as per university enrollment and the laptops quota for each degree program was also determined as per enrollment in each degree program.
Under Prime Minister Youth Laptops Scheme, a total of 138 laptops were issued to PIEAS for distribution among PhD/MS/BS students of PIEAS and its constituent institutes in phase-III. A ceremony to distribute laptops among selected students of PIEAS was held on Nov. 16, 2023 in Alpha Auditorium. Mr. Qaim Ali Shah, Deputy Director (IT) from HEC and Dr. Anila Usman, Dean Applied Sciences distributed laptops to students.
